Our Story

A small business that serves a big solution to the manufacturing of bale ties and baler wire.

Midwest Bale Ties is a family owned and operated manufacturing and wire solutions company based in Crawfordsville, Indiana. With over 150 years of combined experience in the wire industry, our team is dedicated to consistent quality, order flexibility and superior communication and service. Our staff is always able and willing to field questions, provide information and reply to any quote requests. MWBT considers itself a small family owned business that can facilitate reliable large-scale solutions for each and every customer.

Our core products include both baler wire and single looped bale ties in various lengths, thicknesses, and finishes. In addition, we also offer galvanized and black annealed stump wire, high tensile stump wire, flute wire, agricultural wire, and hanger wire in both standard and custom lengths and quantities. No order is too small or large, and our flexibility and service typically allow for expedited lead times.

Our Facility

With over 35,000 square feet of dry storage and various pieces of production machinery, our facility allows us to provide our customers with a wide array of products in a vast variety of sizes. Our on-site machine shop ensures that any issues that would hinder production are taken care of in a timely manner, so we can provide our customers with the best lead times available. Whether you are looking to purchase spools of raw wire, pallets of box wire or full gaylords of single looped bale ties, Midwest Bale Ties can facilitate your request.

John Kendrick
Management

Our founding member and avid golfer John treats his staff and customers as though they have been with him since the start. Working mainly with our production and executive teams, John embodies the positive attitude and loyalty we at Midwest Bale Ties hope to convey to each and every one of our new and existing customers. With over 40 years of experience, we are proud to grow the business he started, with him steering the ship as we strive to move forward each and every day.

Sam Haslam
Management

With over 30 years in the steel industry, Sam has extensive experience in production, quality control, and shipping and receiving. A true family man, Sam treats every employee like one of his own and works diligently to make sure we put out the best quality product possible for every customer. As the head of our production and shipping teams, Sam prides himself on organization and efficiency.

Jason Ramsey
Management

The junior member of our management team, Jason comes to Midwest after 12 years in the Aerospace Industry and has extensive experience in mechanical engineering. A proud graduate of Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, Jason brings a true problem-solving mentality to every facet of our business and organizes our constant flow of raw material. Jason is also the champion of our day-to-day operations and strives every day to take our business to the next level.

Our Production Team

With over 45 years’ experience, our production team works tirelessly to ensure that the quality of our products is second to none. No order is too large or small for our operators to tackle, and they make adjustments on the fly daily. Without the hard work and loyalty from this team, MWBT would not be able to consistently meet and often exceed our customers’ expectations.
